Carter Park - Archery Range

The range is located at the north-east edge of the paved pathway loop (past the pond, in the second open field).
About the Range
Hours of Operation:
1/2 hour after sunrise to 1/2 hour before sunset
Block targets at 10, 20, 30, and 40 yards
Archery Range Rules
This project was supported by the Ohio Division of Wildlife. Deerfield Township received an ODNR Division of Wildlife Shooting Range Subsidy Grant for the development of the archery range at Carter Park.
The Carter Park Archery Range is open to the community as a free, public practice space and offers block targets at 10, 20, 30, and 40 yards.
PLEASE NOTE: For safety reasons, the range will be closed during formal programs and scheduled maintenance. Please see below for closure times.
Safety & Accessibility
The range features accessible paved pathways throughout, including shooting line, waiting area, and target lanes.
The range was designed to meet National Field Archery Association (NFAA) Guidelines for Safety, including:
Fencing and signs to indicate range boundaries
Single clearly visible shooting line
Shooting in one direction only
10ft wide target lanes
Buffer zones on left, right, and behind targets
Designated bow rack for each lane
Designated benches for waiting area
At each lane, Range guidelines are posted and signal flags for arrow retrieval are available.
